The Golden Sun magazine was founded in 2022 when the Creative Writing Club sponsor, Ms. Darst and the Photo Club sponsor, Mrs. King decided they wanted to create an arts and literary magazine like the ones they saw in their high schools and colleges. Ms. Darst studied Advertising Design and Graphic Design in college and knew how to use the program needed to lay out the magazine. Mrs. King had the eye for design and artistic talent needed to identify the talented students at Palmetto. Dr. Salomon and Mrs. Gruener loved the idea of creating an Arts and Literary Magazine at the school and wanted their clubs, National Art Honor Society and English Honor Society, to be part of the inaugural edition of the magazine. Dr. Salomon's artistic talent lead him to create a beautiful logo for the magazine. With a solid team in place, these advisors delegated their top executive board members to be involved in the creation of Palmetto's new arts and literary magazine, The Golden Sun.

We are the artists, the writers, the photographers of Miami Palmetto Senior High School who want to secure a place in our school's archives as the talented individuals we are.
